RetroBright 2.0
What is RetroBright 2.0?
This product is not a watered down version of hair gel that can be found in cosmetic shops and Internet listings. We’ve developed this product specifically for a non-UV submersion method in mind which does not require sunlight access and which offers excellent and evenly brightening results. Our product can also be used in traditional ways as well. Our modified formula relies on a 35% hydrogen peroxide solution mixed with addition of mild solvents – which work great for mild and strong plastic discoloration without damaging the silkscreen print. Finally the full purchase option includes a UV protective solution spray developed by 303 Aerospace which should help to prevent the yellowing from reappearing!

Frequently asked questions:
- What types of plastics can it be used with? This product can be used with all types of plastics which suffer from the yellowing effect and are commonly used for manufacturing consoles and computer housings, household equipment, toys, shoes etc. (e.g. ABS, ABS-PC, TPU etc.)
- Can I use it with colored plastic parts? Plastic parts can be colored in mass (injected using colored polymer) or painted. Always make sure if you try to brighten up colored parts to test the process (e.g. on the inside surfaces). Some painted parts and can be bleached – which would result in permanent damage to the color layer.
- Is this a concentrate? Yes, the sold product is a 35% concentrated gel. It can be used directly on a restored housing but you can effectively achieve 6 times the original volume by diluting it in warm water. In effect it will result in a 6% hydrogen peroxide solution and 600 ml / 21 oz volume (using the small bottle) and 1500 ml / 51 oz volume (using the big bottle). 6% hydrogen peroxide solution is a standard for hair gels and household cleaning products.
- How much product is needed? For the traditional method a smaller 100 ml / 3.5 oz bottle should be sufficient for a single housing restoration process. The 250 ml / 8.5 oz bottle should be sufficient for repeating the process. Both submersion methods require the product to be diluted therefore we do recommend ordering 2x 250 ml / 8.5 bottles or more if your restored parts are big. If you’re not sure how much product would be needed in your case or are interesting a bulk orders please contact us directly.
- How to use it? Please refer to our Brightening Tutorial section, which describes in details the most popular brightening methods.
- Is it safe to use? Please note that hydrogen peroxide is extremely corrosive to skin, eyes and mucous membranes at high concentrations (>10%); lower concentrations may cause irritation. Always use protective gloves and glasses during product application and removal! Protect this product from children and animals.
- How to store it? The bottle should be stored in a cool, dark place. Please note that hydrogen peroxide will lose its efficiency after a few months. Hence it is best to use as soon as you receive it. It is also the very reason we prepare the product freshly before sending out.
- Is it safely packed? We take extra time to pack and secure our product before shipping. We successfully tested and use High Density Polyethylene bottles with watertight sealing caps to make sure nothing gets damaged when handling. Additionally, each bottle is packed in a string bag. However, under high temperatures the oxidation process will cause the bottle to swell. We recommend either puncturing the bottle cap to let the air out, or in extreme cases transfer the product to different container e.g. a glass jar.
- Can you restore / customize my console housing for me? To cut a long story short – yes! Please contact us directly describing your problem and we will gladly give you our price estimate for such services.
